Game Design

Mechanics, Development, and Environments

Gameplay Mechanic Development

Some of the work I've done in regards to game mechanic implementation. This section features taking concepts of game mechanics and doing the actual work of programming, testing, and bug fixing to make those ideas a reality. Click on each video to learn more about it.

Game Environment Development

Part of developing how a game will function is determining the space that the player will operate in. Aesthetics are important, but here I am showing these pictures from a perspective how the environment contributes to gameplay.

Mechanic Ideation & Conceptual Design

Every product starts with a concept, and games are no different. This section features some of the ideas for gameplay features and mechanics, and loops will function. Think of these like blueprints.

TTRPG Dungeon Creation

A fictional dungeon scenario meant to be adapted to any table top roleplaying game. The dungeon itself features an underground upside-down tower with gravity themes. Click on the picture to expand it and get a better look.

Gameplay Loop Ideation

Various ideas for what the main gameplay of a student project would be about. The project featured a T-Rex, in space, trying to stop the meteor that brought about the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Gameplay Loop Revision

This is a gameplay revision I proposed to my colleagues for a game project we collaborated on. The revision itself, pictured in the middle, addressed the lack of depth the previous turn system had, pictured left. Pictured right is a screenshot of the game that this system was implemented into. The game itself features you, a priest, leading your ostracized congregation through a harsh and unforgiving environment- all with the hopes that they will make it to the promised land.
